• Naturopathic physicians in the state of Montana are graduates of accredited naturopathic medical institutions and have passed the NPLEX (Naturopathic Physicians Licensing Exam.
  • Licensing is administered through the Montana Board of Alternative Health Care .
  • An active license for naturopathic physicians requires an annual fee of $550.00; and inactive license requires a fee of $275.00.
  • License renewal requires 15 hours/year continuing medical education; at least 5 hours must be in naturopathic pharmacy courses.
  • License renewal is accomplished on line and the renewal period is March 1 through April 30; late renewal requires a doubling of the license fee.
  • Naturopathic Childbirth Specialty Certificate requires specialized obstetrical education, an annual fee of $100.00 and and additional continuing education hours equaling 5 hours of obstetrical/neonatal specific material.
